In this lecture we will look at how to add assets (images, 3D models, sounds, videos, and scripts) into a Unity project, what camera parameters are useful to know about, and what the options are for lighting a scene.
We will kick-off the lecture with a review of the last week, given by one or two students, and then head into the theory of the necessary steps involved in importing assets, and setting up cameras and lights. In the second part of the lecture we will put the theory into practice by expanding on the Unity scene that we set up so far.
For this lecture we have prepared a few asset packs in the form of ZIP archives. The ReversedSphere.obj in the Simple 3D Objects archive is particularly interesting for using 360-degree images and videos in your environment. You can find some applicable assets in the 360 Assets archive.
There is also a Basic Scripts archive with useful scripts to make your scene more dynamic. We will try them out in the practical part of the lecture to give you some ideas of what you can do with them.
